Isn't it ironic?

I started this blog with a post on the passing of Senator Ted Kennedy, never would've I thought that his dream of improving health care in this nation would be possibly derailed by democrats not being able to keep his seat in the US senate.

But that's exactly what happened on Tuesday.

Scott Brown-R will be the Jr Senator of Massachusetts and he has vowed to vote against the health bill that the Senate thought they had in the bag just a few weeks ago (You'd have thought they would've learned not to count their chickens before they hatch from President Bush).

What does this mean?

There were a lot of reactions after this election that shook up the Senate. Some say it is a sign of a push-back of the ultra-liberal Obama agenda. Here's a video from those folks:

President Obama acknowledges voter anger that is represented in the above video, he said that the same anger that got him into office, allowed Scott Brown to be elected as well.

I agree. People are angry.

They thought they were voting for change and so far they have seen very little. Bankers are getting billions in bonuses while the working people are dealing with 10% unemployment.

I think the straw that broke the camels back in this case was the deal that senator Ben Nelson struck for Nebraska. I think people are sick and tired of these kind of shady deals. Here is what two local bloggers thought about it this subject:

It also sounds like that Scott Brown ran a great campaign and that Martha Coakley didn't.
I'll allow John Stewart to expand on this:
Gotta love politics. They are Wee'd Wee'd up indeed!

So what do you think?

Haiti

It's been over a week since the devastating earthquake hit Haiti. Relief is coming in, but it' s a slow go. Of the 1400+ flights a day trying to land, only 140 can.

Americans have already donated $285 million, more will be needed. If you haven't given yet and want too, here are some organizations to check out:

In case anybody out there needs a refresher course on what causes an earthquake, watch this:
